Save Energy with Spray Foam Insulation
Using spray in polyurethane foam insulation helps you save money on your utility bill by reducing heating and cooling costs by as much as 40%. These energy savings can be seen immediately in the home. Spray polyurethane foam insulation has a higher R value per inch, which makes it a more efficient form of insulation than traditional fiberglass batting. SPF insulation also has better heat refraction; instead of the fiberglass insulation absorbing the heating and cooling, then eventually reflecting it back into the home (after several hours), SPF directly reflects the hot or cool air without absorption, making the refraction of air temperature much faster. In addition to the superior insulating value of SPF, home owners can lower costs by installing smaller heating and cooling units that will run more efficiently.
Save even more with a federal tax credit of 30% of the cost of materials, (up to $1,500) for 2009 and 2010.
Additional incentives for energy saving improvements may also be available from your state.
Additionally, HUD offers low cost FHA loans for home renovations.
